FAQ
HOW CAN I SEE DETAILS OF THE ORDER I JUST PLACED?
When you place an order on this portal, you will see a confirmation message that your order has been created. The notice contains an order number in bold: you can click on this number to see the details of the order. Once placed, we will check the details of the order within a couple of days and confirm a likely despatch date. At this point we will also add any additional carriage costs if the order is going to be shipped internationally or to a remote domestic destination. You will not receive an email confirming receipt of the order until we have done this.
HOW CAN I SEE MY ORDER HISTORY?
To access all your past orders, go to your own account details either via your Customer Name in the top right hand corner of the screen, or from the My Account menu at the bottom of the screen. Choose 'All Orders' to see a list of previous orders. You can click on a specific order to see what products it contained, what the payment status is on that order, and also to download the invoice or email it to yourself or a person of your choosing. Be aware that we do not do payment reconciliation every day and that it may take a few days after a payment has been made for it to register as paid against an order number.
HOW CAN I FIND AN INVOICE I AM MISSING?
To access your invoices, go to your own account details either via your Customer Name in the top right hand corner of the screen, or from the My Account menu at the bottom of the screen. Choose 'All Orders' to see a list of previous orders. You can click on a specific order to download the invoice or email it to yourself or a person of your choosing.
CAN I KEEP A LIST OF MY FREQUENTLY-ORDERED OR FAVOURITE PRODUCTS?
There is a tiny heart icon in the top right hand corner of each product listing. If you click on this heart the product will be added to your list of favourites. That list can be accessed by clicking the larger heart icon next to the basket at the top right hand side of the page. You can order straight from your favourites list. This will make reordering much simpler and faster for you. To remove a product from your favourites list, simply deselect the small heart icon again.
A PRODUCT I LIKE HAS VANISHED. WHY IS THAT?
This trade portal only displays products that we currently have in stock.
ARE CAMBRIDGE IMPRINT PRODUCTS ALL MADE IN THE UK?
All Cambridge Imprint products that are available to trade customers are designed, manufactured, finished and packaged in England. Our patterned paper is printed in London. From there it travels all over the country, up to Sheffield and Stoke-on-Trent, across to Bedfordshire and Suffolk and down into Devon, to all sorts of small English manufacturing businesses where it is made into other products. We work with a range of box-makers, book-binders, potteries and textile printers to make our patterns and papers into enduring, resilient, beautiful, useful things.
IS CAMBRIDGE IMPRINT PAPER RECYCLED?
No, our paper is not recycled, but we are keenly interested in sustainability and ecology. The stock we print on has Forest Stewardship Council certification, which means that it is produced from sustainable sources. Because our paper is uncoated and printed with vegetable oil-based inks, it is both completely recyclable and biodegradable. Our printer has a long-established track-record in minimising environmental impact.
WHY DO SOME CAMBRIDGE IMPRINT PRODUCTS COME IN A CELLOPHANE SLEEVE?
Our light environmental footprint is important to us. We minimise packaging and use absolutely no plastic in our product packaging of any kind. Our inks are vegetable-oil based and our paper and card is uncoated, so that it is completely compostable as well as recyclable. However, some of our cards and notebooks do come in a minimal protective cellophane sleeve, because we have found that when these vulnerable items are not protected they are too easily damaged, and the rate of spoilage is very high. Cellophane is a plant-based product that biodegrades completely, but we are aware that the carbon disulphide that is sometimes used in its manufacture is toxic. On balance, at present the environmental cost of the cellophane is outweighed by the much higher environmental cost of throwing away spoiled cards and notebooks. We do review our options frequently, looking for the outcome with the least impact.
IS CAMBRIDGE IMPRINT PAPER SUITABLE FOR WRITING ON WITH A FOUNTAIN PEN?
The paper in our notebooks is ideal for writing with a fountain pen. It is a very smooth 90 gsm paper in a warm ivory colour which is much gentler on the eyes than a bright white paper. It is a fine paper but with no bleed-through and no show-through or ghosting. It is uncoated with a fairly fast dry time but only slightly ‘toothy’ and no feathering.
